What led to Paintings by Andre Rautenbach

Art and specifically painting has always been my first love. As a child I bred Guinea-pigs for pocket money. What I earned by selling the furry little animals to pet shops, I then spent on buying art materials. I took art as a subject at school and I had the opportunity to take private art lessons in the afternoons after school. After completing school I studied Graphic design before changing to Interior design at the Natal Technikon in Durban. During this time I transferred to Cape Town where I completed my National Diploma in Interior Design at Cape Technikon. This ended my tertiary education.

In Knysna I painted professionally and ran my own art gallery for a few years selling my paintings sometimes by photos alone. After marrying my Wife Sonja, we disappeared into the isolated Klein Karoo where we spent 22 years before leaving to reintegrate into society. During the time in the Klein Karoo we raised our 3 sons, managed a 15000 Ha game farm with conference facilities and accommodation, did building contracts, painted and drafted building plans, owned and ran our bush pub and restaurant and propagated protected succulents among other things. On top of this we started an inner journey into the workings of the human mind and the connections between thoughts and manifested reality.

Now we are living in Mossel Bay where we have started a new journey.

South African Developed PLASTICS-TO-FUEL PROCESSING PLANT

"To say our growing stockpiles of non-degradable plastic waste are an environmental headache has to be the understatement of the century. However, thanks to Somerset West inventor William Graham, this highly problematic waste has just become a valuable resource. Here’s why: His modular, fully automated plastics-to-fuel processing plant converts all types of waste plastics (except PVC, because of its chlorine content), as well as vehicle tyres, into a variety of fuels to power our modern lifestyles.

Graham’s plant produces a multi-fuel chemically similar to diesel that can, in turn, be further refined into a petrol equivalent. Oh, and by-products (depending on the feedstock) include paraffin and LP gas. It also produces a type of clean “sweet crude” with a zero CO2 content.....even the system waste has value: it can be converted to charcoal."

Modular PLASTICS-TO-FUEL PROCESSING PLANT

Plans are also afoot to produce smaller PLASTICS-TO-FUEL PROCESSING PLANT's for farmers and small communities that’ll supply about 5 litres per hour. Says Graham: “Our technology not only removes a serious environmental headache and provides cheap fuel, but is going to help with job creation, too. I want to go worldwide with this.” What Graham has achieved is a landmark moment in our war on waste. It’s a practical, financially sound and ecologically appealing method of dealing with our growing mountains of plastic and tyre waste."
